Our Team
Keaton Cuthbert
Born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, Dr. Keaton Cuthbert worked as a veterinary assistant in various small animal clinics for four years prior to pursuing her doctorate. She graduated in 2017 from Oregon State University with her degree in Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Keaton and her husband, Loki, moved to Bend in the spring of 2021 and have been loving all the outdoor activities this area has to offer. On her time off you can find Dr. Keaton hiking, mountain biking, skiing, spending time at local breweries around town, or out adventuring with her daughter and her English Bulldog, Brixton, and Australian Shepherd, Quinn.
It was during her work in general practice that Dr. Keaton learned how important peaceful euthanasia experiences were, both for the client and the pet. By creating a quiet, calm, low stress environment we can focus on relieving suffering and saying goodbye to our loved ones. This makes the last memories we have with them filled with peace.
Katie Nicol
Dr. Katie is a small animal veterinarian based in Bend, Oregon, where she has practiced full-time since September 2022. Originally from Vancouver Island in BC, Canada, she completed her undergraduate degree in biology at Vancouver Island University. Dr. Katie then pursued her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, SK, graduating in 2015.
Since then, she has dedicated herself to caring for small animals. Driven by a love for travel, Dr. Katie and her partner embarked on a journey overseas after graduation, settling in New Zealand for two years to kickstart their veterinary careers. They later relocated several times across Texas, Canada, and Colorado before ultimately choosing Oregon as their permanent home. Dr. Katie lives with her partner, Colin, and their terrier mix, Kevin.
Having grown up in a household with multiple cats and dogs, Dr. Katie's passion for veterinary medicine was nurtured early on. She understands firsthand the importance of providing compassionate end-of-life care, as her family often opted for in-home euthanasia services for their beloved pets. Through her experience in the veterinary field, Dr. Katie has come to appreciate the significance of allowing pet owners to say goodbye in the familiar and comforting environment of their own home.
