The Process

In-Home Euthanasia Process

1. Initial Consultation and Appointment Booking: Once you reach out to us, we will have a compassionate phone conversation to discuss your pet's condition and your wishes. We will then schedule a convenient appointment time for the in-home euthanasia.

2. Arrival and Preparation: At the appointed time, one of our caring team members—either Dr. Katie Nicol or Dr. Keaton Cuthbert—will arrive at your home. We will ensure that the environment is as comfortable as possible for both you and your pet, whether you prefer to be indoors or outdoors.

3. Comfort Measures: To ensure your pet’s comfort, we start with a combination of pain relief and sedation administered by injection. This step will help your pet feel relaxed and at ease, allowing them to remain calm and pain-free.

4. Final Farewell: Once your pet is calm and comfortable, you will have time to say your goodbyes. We understand how important this moment is, and we give you the space and time you need to be with your beloved companion.

5. Administration of Euthanasia: When you are ready, we will administer a second injection that will gently stop the functions of the heart and lungs. This final step ensures that your pet's passing is as peaceful and dignified as possible.

6. Aftercare Options: Depending on your wishes for aftercare, we will transport your pet to our vehicle. We offer cremation services through Annie’s Healing Hearts and can handle all arrangements with the utmost care and respect.

We are here to support you through every step of this process, ensuring that your pet's final moments are as peaceful and compassionate as they deserve.
